Faisal Goes West (2012)

Faisal and his family arrive in Texas with ambitious expectations. The family must make money fast, a difficult task considering they are still adjusting to a new environment, language, and lifestyle.

Feeling a need to share the burden, Faisal abandons his dreams of American university to work on a chicken farm. Only through humility and hardship can he learn the tough lessons necessary to gain ground in his new home.

About the film

Faisal Goes West is a medium-length narrative film currently in post-production in Dallas, Texas. The film, in its depiction of the transition from “East” to “West,” is a long-anticipated project for us at Aboudigin and marks our first major project in the “West.” The film speaks to the ability of anyone to persevere through hard times with resilience and determination, and is one step further in our mission to expand the role of film across the world as a platform for artistic expression, particularly in places like Chad and Sudan where it struggles to survive.

Be a part!

We’re building a network of artists and filmmakers across the U.S. to collaborate on the film. Anyone can be a part of the project–make sure to check out the film’s website at faisalgoeswest.com.
